Goodreads Summary:

The rules were simple. Keep my hands off his daughter and stay out of trouble. But now I’m stuck with her. There’s only one bed. And well, rules are made to be broken.I’m the face of professional bull riding—the golden boy. Or at least I was, until it all blew up in my face. Now my agent says I have to clean up my image, so I’m stuck with his ball-busting daughter for the rest of the season as my “full-time supervision.”But I don’t need a goddamn babysitter, especially one with skin-tight jeans, a sexy smirk, and a mouth she can’t stop running.A mouth I can’t stop thinking about.Because Summer isn’t just another conquest. She sees the man behind the mask, and she doesn’t run—she pulls me closer, even when she shouldn’t.She says this means nothing.I say this means everything. She says there are boundaries we shouldn’t cross. That my reputation can’t take any more hits—and neither can her damaged heart.I say I’m going to steal it anyway.

What happened in Flawless?

  • Summer works for her father, Kip, at his talent agency. They represent Rhett, a bull rider. Rhett recently lost a bunch of sponsorships because he was caught on camera saying he hates milk, after doing a brand deal with Dairy King. He also punched a reporter, which is arguably worse than the milk thing.
  • Kip asks Summer to spend some time with Rhett to ensure he behaves until this whole thing blows over.
  • Rhett plans to retire soon as thirty two is a bit old for bull riding, but he wants to win the championship one more time.
  • Rhett’s sister, Violet, calls him to check up on him. She tells him to behave himself and get it together.
  • Rhett meets with Kip and Summer, as well as the other employee, Geoff. Kip explains his plan to have Summer follow Rhett around for two months.
  • Summer calls her friend, Willa, who encourages Summer to have a good time. Summer recalls how Willa was there for her when she broke up with Rob.
  • Harvey, Rhett’s father, greets Summer when she arrives at the farm. She’ll have a room at his main house. Harvey is impressed that Summer graduated from law school.
  • Rhett becomes more and more stressed by the arrangement. He tries to get Kip to change his mind but he won’t. Cade teases him for it.
  • Cade asks Summer why she’s staying with them, and Summer tells him she needs to learn about Rhett’s life, which isn’t exactly the truth.
  • Summer holds a meeting with Rhett to go over his travel schedule. He explains bull riding to her as she’s unfamiliar with the sport. The championship will take place in Las Vegas in two months’ time.
  • Rhett’s brother, Beau, is currently on leave from the military and is staying at the house too. Beau knows exactly why Summer is there, as he saw the infamous punching video. Beau invites Summer to stay for dinner, and then for a drink with the gang.
  • Summer updates Willa on the goings on. Willa ships Summer and Rhett.
  • The gang go to a bar in town called The Railspur. The locals all seem to either fancy or look up to Rhett, which is probably why he’s so arrogant.
  • Summer goes to the bathroom and overhears some women talking about Rhett and someone called Amber. She returns to her table with the guys, and sees that Rhett is surrounded by a bunch of women. Beau and Summer send milk-based drinks to Rhett to troll him. Rhett finds it amusing.
  • Kip tells Rhett that the sponsors have agreed to keep working with him… for now.
  • Rhett stays awake thinking about his retirement. He’s getting a bit old for bull riding now, but isn’t sure what else he could do.
  • Rhett notices a scar on Summer’s chest. She tells him that she had surgery when she was younger.
  • One sponsor no longer wants to work with Rhett. Kip tells Rhett he should declare his love for milk. Rhett truly does hate milk though.
  • Summer and Rhett go to the gym together. Summer has been looking up exercises for him to help with his pain, so she shows him an abs workout that could help.
  • Rhett starts calling Summer “princess”.
  • Summer attends her first bull riding event. She meets Theo, a young bull rider, who Rhett gets along well with. Rhett’s ride lasts eight seconds and he gets through to the next round.
  • Rhett is in pain after his ride but tries to hide it. He can’t let his doctor know or he won’t be allowed to take part in the competition.
  • Rhett and Summer stay in a hotel overnight. Summer goes to Rhett’s room and gives him pain meds. She also applies some balm to his back.
  • Summer brings Rhett coffee the following morning, and then gives him another massage. Her hands are freezing because the heating isn’t working in her room.
  • Rhett goes to a trade show to meet fans and take interviews.
  • Emmett, another bull rider, asks Rhett if Summer is fair game. Rhett tells Emmett to stay away.
  • Rhett rides again and is successful.
  • Emmett tries to flirt with Summer but she’s having none of it. Emmett tells Summer that Rhett sleeps with a lot of women on tour.
  • Summer and Rhett return to the hotel.
  • Rob, Summer’s horrible ex boyfriend, calls her. Rob says he saw Summer on TV and is worried that she’s around a load of cowboys. Summer hangs up because Rob is a manipulative arse.
  • Rhett insists Summer sleeps in his room because hers in freezing cold. They order a takeaway and watch TV together, then Rhett is about to sleep on the floor until Summer tells him to get into bed.
  • Summer tells Rhett that her father, Kip, had an affair with the nanny, resulting in Summer. Kip and his wife raised her, but it was a challenging childhood. Summer was born with a heart defect and required surgery, and later had to spend lots of time in and out of hospital.
  • Rhett reveals that he never knew his biological mother either, as she died when he was two.
  • Beau flirts with Summer and Rhett gets jealous.
  • Summer goes with Rhett to the hospital so he can get an MRI to see what’s going on with his shoulder. They bump into Summer’s sister, Winter, who is a surgeon at the hospital. Winter seems… unfriendly.
  • Winter reveals that Summer used to have a poster of Rhett on her wall. Summer wishes that she was closer with her sister, but her step-mother (Winter’s biological mother) got in the way of that.
  • Summer sees Rob’s car and its stupid number plate in the hospital car park. She becomes tense. Summer explains to Rhett that Rob is her ex and that he called her at the hotel after seeing her on TV. Rhett says this is sus because the competition wasn’t televised.
  • Rhett kisses Summer in front of Rob to make him jealous.
  • Summer tells Rhett that Rob was her surgeon when she was a teenager, and they got together when she was eighteen. Gross. Summer didn’t tell anyone about their relationship and asks Rhett to keep the secret too.
  • Cade discovers that their farming neighbours, the Jansens, have been parking their equipment on the Eatons’ ranch. The brothers head over there to cover the tractor in toilet paper. They almost get caught by the Jansens, but Beau and Cade ride off and Rhett hides inside the tractor, and later has to walk back to the ranch.
  • Summer is annoyed at Rhett for this because this could ruin the whole plan to rebuild Rhett’s image.
  • Rhett jokes about Summer being uptight and she gets upset with him. He apologises and they hug. Summer explains that she wants to do her job properly and therefore she won’t have sex with clients.
  • Cade apologises to Summer for pulling Rhett into the prank. He then starts going off on one about bull riding, and Rhett gets upset.

  • Summer and Beau dance platonically together and Rhett gets jealous. But it’s nice that they’re friends. Rhett interrupts later to dance with Summer himself.
  • Rhett and Summer go for dinner with Jasper. Rob tries to call but Summer ignores it. Then Winter calls, so Summer thinks something must be wrong so she answers the phone.

  • Summer arrives at the hospital. Rob is also there, and it turns out he is married to Summer.
