What happened in The Great Hunt?

  • The Amyrlin Seat travels to Fal Dara and meets with the main characters. Peace doesn’t last all that long, because Trollocs and Myrddraal attack.
  • Padan Fain, a prisoner at the fortress, steals Mat’s dagger.
  • The Amyrlin Seat confirms that Rand is the Dragon Reborn. Yeahhh, we know.
  • Rand and co. go off with Ingtar Shinowa to fetch the Horn.
  • Egwene and Nynaeve go to Tar Valon with Moiraine and the Amyrlin. Egwene and Nynaeve are tutored by the others.
  • A guy called Hurin is busy tracking when he (along with Rand and Loial) are sucked into a parallel world.
  • Ingtar is understandably confused.
  • Perrin pretends to be a tracker but really he can talk to wolves. I still think this is the BEST power. He “tracks” for Ingtar.
  • Anaiya Sedai tells Egwene that she may be a Dreamer.
  • Nynaeve is Accepted and becomes an Aes Sedai by passing a series of tests in the shape of visions.
  • Nynaeve has a vision about Emond’s Field being in trouble, as well as one about marrying Lan. She needs to ignore these visions in order to be Accepted.
  • Rand once again runs into Ba’alzamon and they have a scuffle. Rand is branded with a heron.
  • A woman called Selene helps them find another portal stone that could take them back to their own world. It works, and Rand makes a triumphant return.
  • They manage to retrieve the Horn and the dagger.
  • At Cairhien, Rand bumps into Thom who’s Not Actually Dead. Surprise!
  • Trollocs attack again and Rand and Loial have to escape. They manage to lose the Horn and the dagger.
  • Dena, Thom’s girlfriend, is killed because she and Thom know Rand.
  • Ingtar and Rand are reunited. They need to head to Falme, so Rand rries to use Waygates to get there. It doesn’t work, so Rand attempts to use a portal stone, which also doesn’t work properly.
  • Falme is currently occupied by the Seanchan btw.
  • Egwene and Nynaeve are told to head to Toman Head to save the boys. They manage to use a Waystone properly to get to Falme.
  • Egwene and Min are captured by the Seanchan and Egwene is collared to stop her from channeling.
  • Nynaeve and Elayne aren’t captured and are able to escape.
  • Rand eventually gets to Falme and attempt to get the Horn and the dagger.
  • Rand gets into a fight with the High Lord of the Seanchan and wins. He gets the Horn and the dagger. Again.
  • Egwene is rescued by the other women. The Whitecloaks attack as the group is trying to escape the city.
  • Mat uses the Horn and summons the Heroes to help them win the battle. The Seanchan retreat and the Children are defeated.
  • Rand and B’alzamon once again battle one another. Rand wins and is forced to admit that he is the Dragon Reborn.
