Goodreads Summary:

That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not dessert - he's the main course!

Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood...an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?

Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quickly - once he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into...if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

What happened in A Quick Bite?

  • It’s Lissianna’s birthday and she has gone out dancing. She has also tried to find someone to drink from, but the guy she chose (Dwayne) turns out to be anaemic, which is no good.
  • Lissi’s mum, Marguerite, is throwing a party that is supposed to start at 10pm.
  • Lissi heads back to the family home and finds a man called Greg strapped to her bed. He’s a psychologist who specialises in phobias.
  • Lissi realises she can’t read his mind. The two start to get it on.
  • Marguerite walks in on them. It’s all very awkward, particularly after she says she brought Greg here to help Lissi with her phobia.
  • Thomas, Lissi’s cousin, stays behind to speak to Greg. He tells him Lissi’s dad, Jean Claude, was an abusive alcoholic who died when he passed out drunk and set the house on fire. This is where Lissi’s phobia comes from.
  • All the other cousins visit Greg and ask him to help too.
  • Lissi is hemaphobic, which is pretty crap for a vampire. She faints at the sight of blood.
  • Greg wants to leave so Thomas, Lissi, and the others drive him to his apartment. He’s very angry when he finds out “all” he’s meant to be treating is hemaphobia.
  • Marguerite is unimpressed when she finds out what the youngsters have done.
  • Marguerite and Martine go over to the apartment and can’t wipe Greg’s memories, so they bring him back.
  • It’s probably worth mentioning that Lissi works at a homeless shelter to get her blood. A guy called Father Joseph also works there and he has been testing her with garlic and crosses. Lissi doesn’t pick up on this, though.
  • Lissi learns that Uncle Lucian is on his way, so she sneaks Greg out of the house. They head to the mall and meet Greg’s family. Lissi feeds on a guy in the bathroom.
  • Lissi and Greg go to stay with her friend and coworker. They get it on and Lissi bites Greg.
  • Lissi gets staked by an intruder. Greg goes to Thomas and Mirabeau for help.
  • Lissi turns Greg. Mirabeau isn’t equipped for this, so they take Greg back to the family home.
  • Lissi has a chat with Uncle Lucian and he’s actually not too scary for an old vampire. (He’s my favourite!)
  • Lissi goes to work and Greg picks her up. Or he tries to, but they’re taken by Father Joseph and Dwayne, who have figured out the vampire thing… sort of.
  • Lissi breaks free. Her family arrive just in time and save them both. They wipe Dwayne and Father Joseph’s memories.
  • Everyone lives happily ever after and Lissi and Greg are confirmed life mates. Aw!
