What happened in Club Dead?
- Bill has been working a lot lately because he’s boring. Sookie has become frustrated with this because she wants to spend time with her boyfriend. She looks over his shoulder one day when he’s working, and he shouts at her.
- Bill goes on a business trip to Seattle and says he should be back in eight weeks ot so.
- Sookie is attacked by a werewolf and is protected by Bubba.
- Pam calls and tells Sookie that Bill has been captured. He’s been working for the queen of Louisiana and he’s now in trouble. Pam asks some questions and Sookie obviously knows nothing so she’s not a huge help.
- Eric tells Sookie that Bill has been sleeping with a vampire called Lorena.
- Sookie is obviously upset but she wants to look for Bill in Mississippi. Eric sends a werewolf called Alcide to help Sookie search for Bill.
- Alcide and Sookie head to Jackson and end up at a vampire bar called Club Dead. Sookie tries to read some minds and finds a man called Russell who may have something to do with Bill’s disappearance. Bill may have been captured.
- Russell stops a man from making a move on Sookie, and he insists that Sookie and Alcide return the following night.
- Sookie meets Alcide’s sister and they get along really well.
- Alide’s crazy ex, Debby, burns Sookie’s shawl out of jealousy.
- The creepy werewolf guy from the club turns up dead in Sookie’s closet. She and Alcide throw the body in a river.
- Back at the club the following night, Sookie and Alcide talk to Russell. He knows Tara, as she’s now the human mate of Franklin Motts.
- Sookie and Tara speak in the bathroom and Sookie asks Tara to keep her identity a secret.
- A vampire hater shows up at the club and tries to stake Franklin. Sookie warns everyone, and she also spots Steve Newlan, the vampire hating church guy from the previous book.
- Sookie gets staked and taken to Russell’s estate. Eric shows up and tells Sookie that Alcide is searching for the person who stabbed her. Eric heals Sookie.
- Sookie can sense Bill on Russell’s estate.
- Bubba is there too, and is trying to protect Sookie. Bubba goes looking for Bill, who is in an outbuilding. Sookie waits until daylight and goes looking for Bill.
- Sookie finds Bill chained up and tortured. Lorena’s there, and Sookie stakes her and hides her body in the covered pool.
- Sookie returns to Alcide’s place and falls asleep. Bill is still stuck in the boot of the car, so when Sookie wakes up she goes to check on him. Someone shoves her into the boot too.
- Bill wakes up and bites Sookie. He heals and rips open the boot of the car. Sookie passes out.
- Debby shows up at Alcide’s apartment and they argue.
- Bill explains to Sookie that he has been working on a vampire database. Sookie is unimpressed and asks Eric to take her home.
- Sookie and Eric stop at a service station. Sookie walks in on what seems to be a robbery, except it’s a bunch of men looking for Eric and Sookie. Sookie sneaks off and flattens the group’s tyres.
- Eric and Sookie save the clerk from being beaten up. They learn there are groups all over Louisiana waiting for Eric and Sookie.
- Sookie enters her house and gets beaten up by werewolves who were waiting for her. Eric tries to run but he gets shot.
- Bill shows up and he and Eric kill everyone in the house to save Sookie, who passes out.
- Sookie wakes up and calls her brother, Jason. He comes over to check on her and tells her that Eric has paid for her driveway to be fixed.
- Alcide visits and apologises for the werewolf business. He kisses Sookie and gives her his business card. Romantic.
- Pam comes over to look after Sookie for a bit.
- Sookie kicks Bill out of her house because she’s fed up with him. She kicks Eric out too because he’s annoying.
