What happened in Visions of Heat?
- Faith is an F-Psy who can predict the future. She’s super valuable to the other Psy, so she is isolated from everyone else so that she can have the best visions possible. She has figured out a way to sneak out of her compound, though.
- Vaughn is part of Lucas’s Dark River pack, although he’s a jaguar Changeling rather than a leopard. He’s much more in tune with his jaguar side than the others are with their own animal sides.
- Of course he and Faith are fated to be mated, lol.
- Anyway.
- Faith has been having visions about the future and decides she needs to speak to Sascha, the E-Psy from the first book who is mated to Lucas. Faith sees her sister being murdered in one of the visions.
- Faith bumps into Vaughn, and he keeps touching her and it’s super annoying. They quickly start to fall for one another, and Vaughn tries to get her to accept his touch and Faith is like “mate, you know I’ve been isolated for ages, can you not”.
- Sasha and Lucas show up and discuss what Faith has been going through. Sascha thinks that the person who killed Faith’s sister was a Psy. Vaugh notices that Faith doesn’t smell weird like the rest of the Psy do. Sascha and Lucas head away from the cabin.
- Faith has a vision while she’s at the cabin, and Vaughn notices a dark presence near her as it’s going on.
- Vaughn helps Faith escape the vision and Faith heads back to her compound before anyone notices she’s gone.
- Faith starts questioning the people around her and how they’re trying to control her.
- The other Psy are considering making Faith part of the Psy Council, as Faith is super powerful and would be useful. They need to get better at monitoring their people after one of them went a bit murderous in the first book, and Faith would be great for that.
- Vaughn realises he’s Faith’s mate. The pack realise that the bond is already there on the Web of Stars. They try to figure out how to get Faith out of there.
- Faith’s father Anthony warns Faith that Caleb, someone who is also in the running for the Council position, is probably going to try to kill her. Anthony advises Faith to lay low for a few days because he doesn’t want to lose another daughter.
- Vaughn asks Faith to choose him over the Psy Council.
- Faith goes for an interview with the Council and she realises she can’t help them cover up for murderers. She decides to choose Vaughn and the pack.
- Faith drops out of the PsyNet and joins the Web of Stars that Sascha and the others are part of. She is still able to communicate with the NetMind, though.
- Faith helps Jud from the wolf pack find the killer.
- Faith discovers the existence of the DarkMind, which works alongside the NetMind… but darkly. This is the reason some Psy are becoming more violent, whereas before they had a decent handle on things. This is what’s giving Faith her visions.
- Faith has a vision about the wolf’s cave system collapsing and she warns the pack and saves the babies.
- The Psy try to assassinate Faith but Vaughn kills everyone and leaves their bodies for the Council to find. Lol.
- Caleb joins the Council.
- Faith agrees to work for the NightStar group and her father, but seperately from the PsyNet. Anthony basically implies that he could have joined the PsyCouncil and that he feels things, and he wants to take out the Council from the inside. Vaughn agrees that Faith’s dad does not stink.
