What happened in Windwitch?
- An assassin tries to blow up Merik’s ship, but luckily for everyone else on board, Merik is able to stop this plot. He does get hurt himself though, but it’s cool because Cam Leeri heals him.
- Vivia is currently trying to deal with her Council, because her father is currently dying and she needs support. Unfortunately the Council are a bit hopeless.
- Merik goes to Lovats because he’s convinced his sister sent the assassin.
- Coincidentally (or not), Safi also almost gets blown up. Everyone but she and the Empress dies. They wash up on shore near the Pirate Republic of Saldonica. They get captured by Cartorran Hell-Bards.
- Aeduan catches Iseult, who has a bargain for him. She wants his help finding Safi in return for his box of coins that she stole. So they team up.
- Merik arrives in Lovats. He comes across a shadow monster that’s prowling the streets. He thinks the monster is after him.
- Vivia is already aware of the monster and has been looking into it.
- The Hell-Bards take Safi and Vaness to an inn as they currently don’t have a ship.
- Baedyed raiders notice Vaness is there and they attack the Hell-Bards. Safi and Vaness consider using the opportunity to escape, but they team up with the pirates instead. The group is able to fight off the raiders and escape.
- Another group of raiders find Aeduan and Iseult. The pair run off and fall into a rushing river. Aeduan holds onto Iseult and gets her to shore.
- The pair camp out at some ruins for the night. The Puppeteer visits Iseult and warns her against trusting Aeduan.
- Merik tries to help the people of Lovats while also evading the shadow monster. He also plots to take down Vivia.
- Safi heads to the underground prisons that are run by the Slaughter Ring. She thinks the Cartorran sailors are being held captive there. She’s unable to find them, but she does find a crew who are under the employment of Vivia.
- Safi learns that their ship has been stolen and is heading to Lovats.
- Iseult and Aeduan reach the Contested Lands.
- Aeduan rescues a child who has been captured by the Red Sails. He kills them all in order to get the child – Owl – out. Iseult and Aeduan flee the scene with Owl as a fight breaks out between the Red Sails and the Baedyeds.
- Merik heads below the city and finds Cam. He also finds the shadow monster, who turns out to be Kullen. Turns out that Kullen’s past lives revitalised him somewhat and Fury rose to the surface. Fury is after revenge and is working for the Raider King.
- The ship reaches Lovats and is filled with seafire. Vivia learns about this and heads off to stop it.
- Safi and co. free all the prisoners. There’s a massive fight but eventually they reach the ship… only to find that the leader of the Red Sails has claimed it. Safi fights her but starts to lose. The Admiral offers to let Safi win in return for a favour. This seems like a bad idea.
- Safi wins the ship though… yay.
- Vivia tries her best to stop the ship from hitting the dam but she isn’t able to. She falls into the valley, and Merik flies after her and catches her.
- Merik, Vivia, and their people repair the dam.
- Safi and Vaness reach Marstok.
- Iseult and Aeduan travel to the mountains to find Owl’s tribe. Merik also starts to head to the mountain range to figure out how to rescue Kullen.
