Goodreads Summary:

Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.

As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.

  • Vincent and Ambrose brings Kate home, worried about the numa. They tell Kate that she needs a bodyguard when they’re not around since they don’t know when the numa would attack.
  • Charlotte and Charles leaves. Kate learned that Genevieve’s human husband Philippe had died and she thinks that that could be her and Vincent one day. Kate sees someone very strange at Philippe’s funeral and wanders off, but before she can see who it was, Vincent finds her and lectures her about the dangers of wandering off alone.
  • Vincent takes Kate out on a picnic in January and Kate questions him about being the Champion. They spot a truck weaving dangerously with no driver inside and Vincent manages to take control of the truck, saving several people’s lives.
  • Kate thinks about pulling off her agreement with Vincent because other people could have died because of the agreement they made in the first book: Vincent would try not to die.
  • Kate looks into Papy’s books and finds a book on undead beings.
  • Georgia meets Violette and Arthur. Georgia has a small, but amusing fight with Violette, resulting in Violette storming out of the cafe. Kate apologizes to Violette for her sister’s behavior.

They tell her to come back in a week. Jules find out about this and tells Kate that she should tell Vincent about the meeting herself.
  • Kate heads to Jean-Baptiste’s library to return the book she borrowed when she meets Arthur, who apologizes for his actions earlier in the book. Kate basically lectured him and gave him the finger.

  • Kate tells Vincent about her trip to the guerisseur. Vincent, in turn, tells her what he’s been up to: killing lots of numa because it’ll alleviate his desire to die. Kate and Vincent’s trip to Charlotte and Genevieve’s house is over.
  • Papy tells Kate that his gallery was robbed last night. Kate gets a phone call from the guerisseur’s son, telling her that the numa came for them, but they both hid. His mother then fled. Kate learns more about the Champion and what the numa can do to the Champion.
  • Two numa visit Kate in Papy’s gallery, demanding to know what the guerisseur told her. Papy and Vincent happen to come upon the scene and the numas leave.
