What happened in Crown of Shadows?
- Dodge goes to visit Ghost!Sam. We readers see that Dodge is being clung onto by this ugly demon looking thing that’s entering his heart and possibly his brain. It’s latched onto him.
- Sam and Dodge fight and Sam almost gets control of Dodge’s body and almost kills him, but they are interrupted. Sam gets pushed back through the ghost door, and Dodge runs off.
- Tyler, having shoved a load of information into his head, gives Jordan an essay for her to hand in as homework.
- Scot tells Kinsey that her father Rendell’s name is written on the wall in the Drowning Cave. Kinsey has never heard of this, but it’s the cave that Duncan drew one time. Rendell and his friends must have spent a lot of time there.
- Kinsey, Scot, Jamal, and Jackie head down to the cave and past several gates and No Entry signs. The signs were there for a good reason though, as they all fall into the deep water when the stairs collapse.
- Jamal and Kinsey kiss in case they die. Fair.
- Kinsey looks at the names on the wall and there are loads there, including Rendell, Erin, and Lucas.
- The group manage to escape by pulling down another ledge. Jackie is very angry with Kinsey because this whole thing was really reckless.
- Bode hides from Tyler under a rug and they discover the Giant key.
- Detective Mutuku comes over when Nina asks to show him a key that she found.
- Kinsey and her mother argue about Nina’s alcohol dependency. Nina goes off to see Duncan, whose partner is still in hospital after the “accident”.
- Zack sneaks into the Key house and uses the Shadow key. He disguises himself as a shadow lady and fights the three kids. The dark lady silently asks Tyler for the Omega key. Tyler doesn’t know where it is and probably wouldn’t give it to her anyway.
- Kinsey and Bode fight off the shadows with a flashlight. They’re starting to struggle when Tyler uses the Giant key to make himself, well, giant.
- Tyler fights Dodge off.
- Nina returns home and the kids tell her they had a party, which explains the mess that the house is now in.
- Kinsey and Zack argue about Kinsey not being cool.
- Jordan is angry because her essay received an F. It wasn’t very well written, I guess.
- Nina is drinking again and she comes across a cabinet that repairs things. She fixes a stool and some broken plates. She then gets it into her head that she can put Rendell’s ashes in there and it’ll fix him. She tries, and it doesn’t work. She thinks it does though, and ends up feeling up Tyler which is very uncomfortable for everyone involved.
- Kinsey and Nina argue again. Nina hits Kinsey. Tyler tells Nina she’s awful. Nina breaks the urn.
- Tyler finds the Omega key amongst the ashes.
