What happened in Saga Volume 6?
- As you will know, in the previous volume the family was separated yet again. Hazel was on a ship with her grandmother and the remaining rebels when it was intercepted by a royal ship.
- Hazel, her grandmother, and “Auntie” Alexis are captured. They come up with a story about them having had to work as comfort girls. They’re still imprisoned by the wings, though.
- Izabel returns!
- Hazel is enrolled in a school. Her teacher gives her a birthday cupcake and a book, which makes Hazel cry.
- Hazel shows her teacher her wings, which is a big no-no. The teacher faints.
- Meanwhile, Alana and Marko are trying desperately to find their daughter. They break into a tower block. It’s clear they’ve forgiven each other for what happened on Gardenia, but they have yet to forgive themselves.
- They break into the records room and find a manifest for a ship that was seized. It was the one Hazel was on. Now they know their daughter is on Landfall.
- Constables almost catch them but they’re able to escape on the treehouse ship.
- Doff and Upsher, the journalists, find out that The Brand is dead. They’re happy because now they can break the story they always wanted to – the story of Hazel! Their boss doesn’t believe them though.
- They go to speak to Ginny from Gardenia to find out more. She thinks Hazel was stolen by the Robots. And that Marko is a war hero.
- They run into The Will. He’s looking for Prince Robot IV.
- Petrichor comes across Hazel with her wings out, and her teacher unconscious on the floor. She gets the wrong end of the stick completely but helps Hazel anyway.
- Alana and Marko go to Prince Robot for help getting to Hazel. He’s reluctant to help at first so of course they threaten him.
- Hazel goes to the infirmary to check on her teacher. She gives her a Heist book as a gift.
- Doff phones an acquaintance and finds out where Prince Robot is hiding so The Will can go and get him.
- Hazel’s teacher thinks she can help Hazel escape. The adults intervene because they’re worried about Hazel trusting the teacher.
- The tree ship hits a hive mine.
- The Will finds little Squire without his father. He threatens him and Ghus comes to the rescue. He cuts off The Will’s fingers
- Marko goes to get Hazel and his mother. He bumps into Petri, who is still super confused.
- The teacher puts Hazel in a box and tries to smuggle her out but is caught by a guard.
- Klara and Alexis create a distraction and knock out the guard. Marko arrives and is reunited with his daughter when she pops up out of the box.
- The Will starts to imagine his sister, The Brand, is with him and telling him to leave Squire and the others alone. He and the dog head back to his ship.
- Klara decides to stay in the prison with her community. Hazel heads back to the tree ship and Petri also follows.
- Petri thinks Alana is a threat and hits her. Marko arrives in time to break up the fight. Petri tells Alana she can tell that she’s pregnant.
